We solicit your prayers again this year for the 2021 Southwest Brethren Youth Retreat, which will be held December 17-19, in the will of the Lord. The retreat will be held at Camp Copass in Denton, Texas. The theme for this year's retreat is "Encounters - Life of Peter" based on Matthew 17:8. This year's speaker is Br. Ali Farhadi from Augusta, Georgia. Br. Steven Daniel and Sis. Sherry Thomas will be ministering to boys and girls respectively. This will be a weekend of life-changing messages, powerful worship, breakout sessions, and interactive experiences that will challenge students to live a life full of purpose that impacts the kingdom of God. This will be an amazing weekend that allows youth of all ages to retreat from the stresses of school and work and engage in fun activities that will build new friendships and reconnect old friends!

Youth ages 13 and up are welcome to attend this weekend of fellowship in the hopes of growing closer with the Lord. Please pray for those who attend, that they may have a powerful impact in their assemblies and communities. Please make this retreat a priority in your prayers.

Yours in our soon coming Lord,

SWBYR Planning Team

This year each attendee will be a part of one track the entire weekend. It will be a focused look into one subject that impacts a believer's life. Below is a brief summary of each track. When registering please rank all the three tracks in order of preference. We will attempt to place you in your preferred group; but as space is limited, it will be first come, first serve.

1. In the Word
Understanding the Bible can feel like an impossible task. Does studying the Word seem unproductive? Do you struggle to hear God speak through His Word? Come attend this track as we delve deeper into God’s Word and seek to make it an exciting and invigorating time.

2. Gospel Illustrated
“Justification”, “confession”, “repentance”: these are some of the big words we hear in church. What do these words really mean and how do they fit into the Gospel? How does one go about being “saved” or “born again”? Regardless of where you are in your faith, this track will more fully explain the Gospel.

3. Roots & Truths
Does understanding doctrines and determining what’s essential seem tough and confusing? What’s up with all these different denominations, creeds, and statements of faith? Come join this track, as we dig into the history of the early church and learn how they discerned and distilled the truth for generations to come.

Ali Farhadi
Ali Farhadi

Ali was born in a Muslim family in Iran. Ali’s family immigrated to the United States when he was a boy. After finishing college, he went to work on Wall Street in New York City at the age of 27. He dreamed of becoming wealthy and a community leader. His dreams were within grasp, but The LORD had different plans for Ali. God saved Ali from his sins through the witness of several friends. Now brother Ali and his wife, Veronika, serve the Lord in a full-time ministry.
